Edition:This book is a collection of writings with lecturers of the Faculty of Islamic Civilization, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia who are directly involved in the teaching and learning process of TITAS. The book is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 discusses the Introduction of Civilisation in terms of the concept of civilization; the relationship of civilization with religion, culture, and race; basic characteristics of civilization; objectives of civilisation courses; theory of birth, development, and collapse of civilization; interaction between various civilizations as well as similarities and differences between civilizations. Chapter 2, on the other hand, focuses on Islamic Civilization, namely in terms of the concept of civilization in Islam; resources; the foundations and goals of Islamic Civilization; views of the Islamic universe; and the characteristics of Islamic Civilization. Furthermore, Chapter 3 focuses on Asian Civilization which encompasses Malay, Chinese, and Indian Civilizations where the focus of discussion is on the birth, development, and achievements and influence of Islam in the civilization. Current Civilisation issues covering Western hegemony, globalization, Islam and human rights, Islam and the environment, the concept of jihad in Islam, civilisational dialogue, Islam and civilizational dialogue as well as dialogue approach in 1Malaysia are discussed in Chapter 4. Chapter 5 is the closing chapter that discusses Islamic science spreading to the West and the hope of the rays of Islamic civilization.
