Summary:The manual for Calculus 1 is written to give students a better understanding of the concepts in selected topics in Calculus 1 using Maple. In the sense Maple acts as a visualizing tool to facilitate the learning of concepts that are difficult to comprehend. At the same time students with no Maple background will gain the experience of learning and using Maple. At the beginning of each topic, the objectives are listed to indicate to students the knowledge that they should obtain at the end of every session. In addition, Maple commands and their function are included to give a clear idea of their usage. This manual will get students through three formative activities. Then first activity is a totally guide activity in which the instructions for each mathematical task, the related Maple commands and output are given. The second activities requires students to display the output, whereas the third activity as neither Maple commands nor output of a given task. An assignment and supplementary exercises are also included in every lab activity for students to try an order to reinforce their learning.
