Traditionalism emerged as a philosophical response to the aggressive wave of modernization and secularism that sought to defend religion. Unfortunately, secularists have co-opted this effort and aim to utilize religion as a means to preserve Western civilization. They promote the view of religion as a factor in shaping the mind and supporting civilization, particularly emphasizing religious freedom. John Hick and Smith proposed the notion of equating all religions, which later became a fundamental principle in the development of Liberal Islam among Muslims. Nevertheless, traditionalist figures such as Genoun, Schuon, and S.H. Nasr continue to influence this group, providing theological justifications for their inclusive stance on religion. However, it should be noted that this thinking is primarily aimed at defending a broad-minded approach to the understanding of the religion they advocate for
