 This book aims to provide information about the basic concept and genre formation in the field of Malay literature. In general, the definition of the concept of genre and the history of the emergence of a literary genre are discussed in detail and followed by examples of works and authors that appeared in the early days of the genre's formation. The structure of this book begins with concepts and genres found in classical Malay literature before further discussing concepts in the fields of modern Malay literature. Then the next chapters are arranged according to the development and continuity of literary knowledge that develops in accordance with the changing times, from the modern era to the postmodern era and the digitalization era. The continuity of the chapter is also adapted to the development of the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 which involves the supply of literary knowledge in the latest technological space. This book is suitable for students, researchers, literary audiences, and general readers. In fact, this book can be used by academics in universities to discuss the introduction concept for teaching and learning subjects in their respective syllabuses.
