It has yet to receive the stature of other medical disciplines and yet more than half the deaths in our hospitals are from motor-vehicle accident and accupational mishap. A great proportion of such victims are from the productive age group (18-45 years). Not only is the personal loss significant but the economic loss both in terms of lost revenue and rehabilitation costs are also considerable. Emergency Department worldwide, but more so those in developing countries are generally understaffed or are manned by junior doctors with little trauma management experience. The multiple nature of present day injuries requires the early expert management with a multi-disciplinary approach. This will not only reduce mortality but significantly improve morbidity an enhance rehabilitation. This book is an effort to redress the present situation. trauma management with hands-on those skills working practice.
