New imaging techniques have replaced contrast radiographic techniques like bronchography and cholecystography. Ultrasonography of hepatobiliary system is more sensitive than cholecystography in detecting small stones and biliary sludge. As contrast radiographs have anatomical value to students, the chapters dealing with these have been retained. The text retains its essential essence and easy approach which students have appreciated since the first edition was published, making this an ideal textbook for medical students to learn applied clinical and diagnostic aspects of anatomy.
