 A few days ahead of the 1982 general election, a theatre and poetry group named Grup Theatre Elite organized a poetry reading ceremony called "Long Poetry Night for Mahathir". Nationwide, warm middlemen campaigned. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, who has not been a year since becoming Prime Minister, is certainly very busy campaigning. However, he attended the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) that night witnessing a collection of Malaysian poets, writers, and cultures expressing his appreciation, acclaim, and hope for his leadership through poetry. Then that night saw for the first time a Prime Minister became overwhelmed and stuck during a speech, and had to leave the stage to persuade her overwhelmed emotions to see the sincere acclaim of the artists and cultures towards her. That night, April 14, 1982, in front of Dr. Mahathir, Dinsman read the first poem he wrote for Dr. Mahathir's "Long Poem for Mahathir". Not crossed in his mind that the poem will later be followed by a few more poems, all of which were written for Dr. Mahathir, and 15 years later published a collection like this. And now celebrating the re-attendance of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as the seventh Prime Minister of Malaysia, the book is repeatedly printed. Happy reading!
