 Independent directors are tasked to bring objectivity and clarity to the board in making decisions that determine the survival and prosperity of the organisation. Besides ensuring the well-being of the corporation, independent directors are also expected to champion the interests of shareholders, stakeholders, and the society at large. What kind of atmosphere or environment should be created at the board level in order that it is conducive for independent directors to freely voice their views, be they in agreement or dissent?
