It is hoped that this research achieves its desired purpose to stimulate fresh deliberation among the state and federal authorities to find appropriate solutions to fatwa related issues in Malaysia. Standardisation in fatwa making may here mean uniformity over a set of guidelines that envisage unity within diversity. Fatwas over localised issues may still differ in some ways, yet agreement aver a set of guidelines would be advisable, indeed necessary, for the authorities to make a common stand over wider national issues and those even of concern to the ummah at large.
