Description
Summary:Hikayat Isma Yatim has a street-style form of Persian-Arab literature and is arguably no longer affected by the pattern of Hindu-Jawa literature The content of Hikayat Isma Yatim shows that it is a palace commemoration, intended for the reading of the palace, as the storyline implies a lot of living affairs in the palace, as well as telling the wisdom of an officer as well as the conventions and obedience to the king. From that reason, this hikayat can also be used as an example of how the pattern is shaped by the literary products of the Malacca Malay Kingdom which emphasises on the wisdom of an officer as well as the conventions and loyalty to the king.
