This collection of views points less than the conference organized according to the personal agenda of Peter Newmark, a translated scholar known worldwide. He presented his papers in a symposium to celebrate the presentation of Liber Amicorum, Word, Text, Translation (Multilingual Matters, 1999). The latest volumes are divided into two parts. First, the recording of the discussion was triggered by peter Newmark's papers and started with a summary by himself. He recounted some interesting, fun, and controversial issues. The second part provides the scope for inviting his colleagues to expand the topic chosen, i.e. from the full version of peter Newmark's article that created this scenario: Translation Properties; Translation Type; Authentic Text and Less Text; English as Lingua Franca Terejmahan; Translation Assessment; universities and markets. These contributions take us through both familiar and new areas, from an inability to translate to new forms of translation and social relevance. These contributions take us through both familiar and new areas, from an inability to translate to new forms of translation and social relevance. Additional contributions from international translation scholars such as Stuart Campbell, Juliane House, and Kirsten Malm Kjaer further increased the pull to this volume as a trigger for the Study of Translation at the beginning of the new millennium.
