GAIN AND NOISE FIGURE OF AN ERBIUM DOPED FIBER AMPLIFIER

A 4-meter length of an erbium doped fiber (EDF) which was pumped from a 980 nm laser diode was used as a gain medium in the configuration to find gain and noise figure of an erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA).
