Summary:The majority of applications of rubbers depend upon the unique combination of physical properties of these materials.It is thus important to be able to measure and characterise the physical attributes of rubbers.In response to this need considerable effort has been devoted by various organisations to develop appropriate physical test methods.While the acquisition of physical test data is now widely practised the significance of these data is not as widely recognised.This Bulletin is intended to draw attention to the linitations of physical test data and their intelligent interpretation in extrapolating to service performance.
