 Rice is a staple food for millions of people in the region and the continental. This conference is a re-look into stabilization policies, production, and sizeof planting areas to make sure the reserve of paddy or rice for the whole populatiom is sustainable. Rice as a commodity is very much subject to environment changes for example drought, and increase in input costs to plat paddy has caused difficulties and hardship to small holder and subsistence paddy farmers. It is important to review and create better policies towards achieving a 100% self sufficient level (SSL) for the rice industry in Malaysia. We hope that this conference will address the various issues, and will provide opportunities to establish and strengthen international networking with renowned scientist, agriculturists, policy makers and agriculture industry professionals.
