 The direct sowing of paddy is a popular method of fermentation in Malaysia. The continuous practice of this method has led to an increase in the problem of pests, diseases and weeds that can affect the production of paddy. This added that the use of similar varieties from season to season has caused outbreaks of diseases and insect pests to occur. Pest, disease and weed management is an important activity to ensure sustainable rice production.
