Summary:This study reports on a technical study on the influence of postharvest handling technology and milling operations on rice grain quality in Malaysia, sharing the interest of the International Rice Research Institute, Philippines, in the study of assessing rice grain quality characteristics in the domestic and international market in Asia. Thus, the critical harvesting period for padi is the wet season harvest (July- September). However, the study was also extended to the dry season harvest in order to observe the trend of losses during that season.
