Seedling establishment physiology of gelled and Calper-coated rice seeds
This book analyzes that Calper-coated seeds could not enhance seedling established over and above that achieved with non-coated pregerminated seeds. This was observed irrespective of the water depths and seeding depth studied. Also, it discusses the important role in determining the values obtained...

This was observed irrespective of the water depths and seeding depth studied. Also, it discusses the important role in determining the values obtained for germination, seedling emergence or seedling establishment. Calper is evaluated in terms of it being either an enhancement factor of germination or early post-germination growth. Even so, reports on studies done definitely rule it out as a potential promoter of either growth processes. This compilation of studies on fluid drilling and usage of Calper-coated rice seeds clearly showed the non-practicality of using these alternative systems of indirect seeding. |
