Description
Summary:Past studies that debated the issues of ethnic relations, whether from the point of view of politics, economy, class system, or history, were still less successful in resolving the conflict of ethnic relations that has lasted until now. The main focus of this book is to analyse and evaluate the cause of the conflict between ethnic Malays and ethnic Chinese in the nation-state building process in Malaysia from a new angle, which is the perspective of civilization. This refers to two main values that are encapsulated in civilization and culture, known as parent values and core pillars. The effort to foster unity between the Malay and Chinese ethnic groups is not an easy task because each of them was born inheriting elements of clashing cultures and civilizations. The gap that separates the relationship between these two ethnic groups may be reduced, and cooperation can be fostered if all parties are willing to tolerate and understand each other's position through history
