Description
Summary:The book is dedicated to the readers with some glimpses of intent, the first of which is to document the history of the student movement in the country in four decades as a look at the younger generation and to re-emphasize the nostalgia of the former campus children who are now in all walks of life. The second is to articulate the points of strength and weakness of each decade of the student movement due to different political, economic and social backgrounds in each decade. The third goal is to create awareness to the campus community that their voices are the voices of the people who are of great value and capable of creating history. For example, the campus children's language nationalism movement in the late 1960s has enabled the establishment of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and the Empowerment of Bahasa Melayu as the national language in the country. The demand for the sake of a kamous voice, along with several other factors, caused Tunku to step down from the Prime Minister's hot seat in 1970.
