 The purpose of this paper is to understand the challenges posed to facilities manager in order to survive in the next generation. This paper presents the factors that will give an impact on the higher education institutions (HEIs) in the future. Many organizational strategies fail to achieve their mission due to lack of understanding on culture and people. in malaysia, the facilities management profession is known to face numerous challenges regarding on issues of recognition of a good FM, as well as the awareness of top management, and the importance of certification and education in FM practices. The challenges posed to Facilities Manager are to manage facilities while working with different people from different generations.
