Description
Summary:The use of imported machinery in the mechanisation of agriculture has placed Malaysian agriculture in a vulnerable position as it is dependent on the exporting countries for the supply of spare parts and replacement machinery. The production of modern agricultural equipment is concentrated in the industrialised countries and their exports of agricultural machinery to be developing countries represent less than 10% of their production. Because of the small market, these producers show no interest to adapt their production to the requirements of developing countries. It is therefore necessary for the developing countries which are trying to increase the efficiency and level of mechanisation of their agriculture, to increase their output and use of their locally designed agricultural machinery.
