He was born in the Palestinian city of Gaza in the month of Rajab in the year 150 AH. Some say that on the night he was born Imam Abu Hanifah (Imam Hanafi) died. The Islamic caliph at that time was the caliph Abu Jaafar Al Mansur of the Abbasids. Imam Syafie was brought up in poverty. Since he was a child, he had studied the Quran. He memorized the Quran since he was 9 years old and at the age of 10 he had memorized and understood the book al-muwattak written by Imam Malek. He has a melodious voice, can be poetic and rhyming. At the age of 15 he was already teaching and giving fatwas to the people at the Masjid al-Haram, because of his extraordinary perseverance and ingenuity, he gained the admiration of the community. This novel tells more about the life story of Imam Syafie. Love grief and bitter sweet struggle in upholding the truth. |
