He lived during the time of the nine caliphs of the Umayyads and the five caliphs of the Abbasids. He was the founder of the Maliki School. His descendants came from Yemen, and his ancestors moved to Medina and converted to Islam during the time of the Prophet SAW. His real name was Abu Abdullah Malik ibn Anas ibn Malik ibn Abi Amir ibn Amr ibn Haris ibn Gaiman ibn Kutail ibn Amr ibn Haris al-Asbahi. He was later better known as Imam Malik. He was born in Medina in the year 95 H/ 712 A.D. after being conceived for two years by his mother. Imam Malik was blessed with a long life. He lived during the time of the nine caliphs of the Umayyads and the five caliphs of the Abbasids. Starting from the caliph al-Walid bin Abdul Malik (95 AH) to the time of Caliph Harun al-Rashid (179 AH). He died on Sunday, 14 Rabiul Awal in 179 AH at the age of 86 years. In his long life, he managed to compose us Al Muwattak, a book that was written for 40 years. All because he loved the truth and fought for it. His book explains why he is considered the author of truth.
