This report examines the issue of housing affordability in Malaysia, viewing it within the context of housing as an economic sector rather than simply as a social welfare concern. Housing interventions have focused primarily on demand, and in doing so, subsidizes a non-responsive supply sector. We examines housing affordability with the view of ensuring thar supply is able to meet effective demand, thus improving the affordability of housing in general.
