This book records 100 newspapers that have, are, and will play an important role in the survival of Malay society. Since the appearance of Jawi Peranakkan in 1876 until the appearance of Sinar Harian in 2006, almost 300 newspapers have been published in the Malay language, either using Jawi script or Rumi script. This newspaper is published from various locations in the country, including in Singapore which became the center of the Malay publishing world in the pre-independence period. The 100 newspapers selected in this book have recorded their own history that had an important impact on the development of Malay society. Some of them can only be published for a while, but they have a special and significant meaning for certain periods in the history of Malay newspapers
