Qishash is the imposition of the exact same sanctions on the perpetrators of jarimah whose provisions have been explained in detail in the Qur'an and hadith. Meanwhile, ta`zir is a sanction that is not explicitly explained in either the Qur'an or hadith and is a sanction based on government policy.
