"Manual Islam dan HIV/AIDS" has been enacted specifically for the use of Islamic Affairs Officers in the State, District, and Islamic Religious Departments, Imams, Takmir Teachers, Teaching Credential Holders (Mosques, Suraus and Madrasahs) and Muslim community leaders to enable them to play a more effective and proactive role in dealing with HIV/ AIDS in Malaysia. This manual contains information for Muslim leaders on aspects of HIV/AIDS that are relevant to the general Malaysian community and the Muslim community in particular. This information includes matters related to basic HIV AIDS information, prevention, treatment, support, counseling, stigma (prejudice), discrimination, and the management of AIDS patient remains. The information provided is general in nature since the main purpose of this manual is to provide basic guidance to facilitate the involvement of Muslim leaders to increase the awareness and involvement of the Muslim community in dealing with HIV/AIDS in Malaysia. It is hoped that it can be used as a guide in planning and implementing activities towards tackling the HIV challenge in Malaysia
