Description
Summary:The organization of information began as soon as humans created language and used it to enable information to be transmitted from one person to another. This book provides a comprehensive explanation of the field of information organization with an emphasis on information or knowledge that has already been recorded. Since information can be recorded in various types of media, a person who wants to acquire the knowledge and skills of organizing information needs to know the type, use and need to organize it. The process of organizing information sources is incomplete without classifying them. According to the classification process, each material is given a unique number to determine its location on the shelf. The book also identifies key principles and practices related to describing information sources. The basic principles of classification, especially how to categorize information sources according to specific fields of knowledge and subjects are also discussed. Other aspects such as the automatic indexing process and file organization are also elaborated. Some suggestions to improve the online system were also presented.
