 This book begins with a highlight of the preface of Sulalat-us-Salatin to identify the true title of the book and the secret behind the names Sulalat-us-Salatin and Sejarah Melayu. Next, the author retraces the story of the struggle continued by Sultan Mahmud Syah and his son Sultan A'lauddin Ri'ayat Syah II to drive the Portuguese out of Malacca after 1511, compares some information found in Sulalat-us-Salatin Raja Bungsu with Portuguese sources, and presents a group of events that are generally unknown to readers of other versions of Sulalat-us-Salatin. The author also revealed in Sulalat-us-Salatin that there are several stories that are the basis and cause of the destruction of the city-state of the Malay Sultanate of Melaka, which is the connection between the fall of Melaka and the presence and actions of people of Indian descent who are involved in the business and internal politics of Melaka, leading to the death of Treasurer Seri Maharaja Tun Mutahir/Muzahir and several other dignitaries, causing the defence of Malacca to become paralysed and Malacca to be conquered by the Portuguese. Symptoms of widespread corruption and mutual competition among Indians and mixed Indians are argued to have greatly contributed to the collapse of Malay rule in the city-state of Malacca
