Human capital is an important element that contributes to the development and well-being of the country. Investment in higher education and human capital development in Malaysia is very important in providing a knowledgeable and skilled society. The country's future success depends heavily on the quality of its human capital, not only in terms of intellect, but also personality. Therefore, human capital becomes the main leader in forming a country that is advanced and has a balanced economic and social development, having citizens who are united, cultured, noble, skilled, forward-thinking and far-sighted. More aggressive and effective measures in investment in the education sector of human capital and investment in physical capital are expected to increase the absorption of technology in order to further strengthen the country's competitiveness in the international market. This book specifically presents various issues and challenges in human capital development that need to be addressed in the process of planning and implementing the national development agenda. Coverage of selected issues and challenges involves the public, private, community and individual sectors at the local and global levels. This book also discusses the role of quality human capital in providing the contribution needed by a developing country to improve productivity towards progress in various fields. |
