 This book explores some of the key considerations to produce the framework and content of a model of the higher education system and for Malaysia in line with the changing landscape of the country's higher education landscape now and in the future. The model was built based on several idea germination sessions, workshops, and seminars involving stakeholders related to the Idea of ​​a University, the University Model for Malaysia (MUM), and Futures of Higher Education in Malaysia (FoHEM). These studies have been conducted since late 2005. This book is the only writing available in Malaysia that attempts to document the development and change of the higher education landscape in Malaysia, the result of thorough and interrelated studies. The most important aspect. the book outlines responses to current and future challenges in the form of action plans that fit the model that has been built. The scope of discussion covers aspects such as the categorization of institutions of higher learning in Malaysia, funding, unus governance, curriculum, student development, research, and human resource and human capital development in accordance with the proposed model.
