He is the Leader of the Conscious Women's Force (AWAS), which joined hands with the Insaf Youth Force (API) to raise the banner of the struggle for independence from the British colonialists. His partnership with Ahmad Boestamam, the head of API, has ignited the spirit of a number of young men in Malaya to take up arms against the colonialists. Shamsiah joined the 10th Regiment, which is the Malay wing of the Malayan Communist Party (PKM). His life is full of thorny mines. Several times he got lost in the forest while continuing the armed struggle towards demanding Independence. His struggle does not count, whether in the jungle or on the international stage. Together with her husband Ibrahim, she worked in China, Indonesia, and Vietnam in order to inspire the spirit of nationalism in the people of Southeast Asia who were still under colonial rule. Shamsiah sacrificed his soul and body to liberate Malaya in his own way. After separating from PKM, he remained in China, continuing his life by working in an iron factory. He and his family finally returned to Malaysia on July 23, 1994, after the signing of the Peace Agreement between the PKM, the Malaysian government, and the Thai government, which was signed in Haadyai, Thailand, in 1989. Upon returning to his homeland, he and his grandchildren lived a simple old age. He never regretted opposing the British colonialists, never regretted entering the forest, and never regretted joining the Communist Party. He is grateful that his struggle has shaken the colonists. He believes and is confident that the young generation who can appreciate true history will definitely find their way |
