Description
Summary:This practical manual is intended for students at pre-university level especially those undertaking the South Australian Matriculation course. The first four experiments are designed to provide students with basic physics practicals namely measurement and errors, measuring acceleration due to gravity. forces in equilibrium and a simple pendulum so that they will be able to use them in the experiments. Others are selected in accordance with current content of the SACE Stage 2 Physics course. Lecturers are expected to brief students on experiment expectations and guide them in performing the experiments. For maximum effect on student learning, the experiments have to be conducted only after the students have completed the relevant concepts in the theory classes. Students are advised to go through the manual prior to the experiment to comprehend the purpose and the physics principles involved. The pre-lab questions will relate the experiment essentials to the students' knowledge and experiences. The discussion questions that follow the experiment are generally the application side of the experiment.
