Textile Testing provides basic knowledge on Textile Testing and Product Evaluation of fibers, yarns and fabrics. It includes practical manuals for the testing and analyzing of properties of these textile products using specific equipment. The properties of cotton fiber tested include lengih, fineness, sirength, moisture, trash and honey-dew content; while testing for yarns include size, twist, strength, appearance, hairiness and unevenness. The properties of fabric for testing are widih, weight, thickness, density, crimp, take-up, strengih, crease recovery angle, stiffness,drapability, abrasion, pilling, flame resistance, water resistance, colorfastness and shrinkage. The analyzed properties are tabulated to develop specifications for certain end-uses, and for future references. This book together with the equipment available in the laboratory create opportunities for the Textile Technology Program to offer services or conduct testing and analyzing of textile products for interested individuals or organizations.
