Because of fear and many of his followers defected, Ikramah had no other way but to hide. Even so, he still wants a free life. Then he took a bold step that contradicted his father Abu Jahl. With the help of Laila, his wife, he arranged a meeting with the Prophet even though he was aware of the risks. Strange and miraculous, the Prophet was able to accept his willingness to embrace Islam. It was the prophet's forgiving attitude that brought down his soul. Finally he embraced Islam and became one of the bravest defenders of Islam. Among the wars that Ikramah led was against the false prophet, Musailamah al-Kazzab during the time of the Islamic caliph Abu Bakar Ash-Shidiq. |
