The concepts of riba, the Islamic financial system, and fiscal and monetary policies are thoroughly explored in the book from an Islamic point of view. Other topics explored in the book are national output and income, methods of their measurement, their relation to consumption and investment, and demands for and supply of money. Besides, it describes the roles of fiscal and monetary policies in stabilising the economies of developing countries. Key concepts on three main issues in macroeconomics: unemployment, inflation, and the business cycle; open economy macroeconomics; the international Monetary system; and the principles of balance of payments and Foreign Exchange are also analysed throughout the book, along with their influence on the economic growth of developing countries, especially in the Southeast Asian region
