 The Syariah Advisory Council (SAC) was established to ensure the Islamic capital market in Malaysia operates in accordance with the Syariah principles. Its jurisdiction is to advise the Commission on all matters pertaining to the development of a comprehensive Islamic capital market and to act as a reference center for all issues pertaining to the Islamic capital market. It is not an easy task as it requires a deep understanding of the capital market operation as well as expertise in fiqh mu'amalat to establish ijtihad in solving the current needs of Muslims in the economic field. The role of the Commission is not limited to regulatory oversight but also includes educating investors and i the public. The effort to publish the resolutions of the SAC is a continuing effort of the Commission to provide education and increase the awareness among the community towards the Islamic capital market. All the Syariah views are written in a simple way so that all levels. of the community can understand them It is hoped that this book will provide guidance to the general public in attain a better understanding of the Islamic capital market.
