O Prophet, enjoin your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to fasten their garments to cover their bodies (when they go out); such a way is more suitable for them to be known (as good women) then thus they are not disturbed. And Allah is Oft -Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah Al-Ahzab: 59) Imam Abu Jaafar Muhammad Ibn Jarir At-Tabari said in the interpretation of this verse: Allah swt said to His Prophet Muhammad saw: 'O Prophet' say to your wives, your daughters and the wives of the believers: "Do not you /women resemble slaves in terms of their clothes, if they go out of the house for their needs, they open their hair and face, but they should fasten their veils all over their bodies so as not to be disturbed by evil people, if she knows that they are free women, by word interference.
