Description
Summary:The increasing incidence of major head and neck trauma, and new advancements in imaging, new technology, and reconstruction techniques, created the need for this new text, appropriate for the general otolaryngologist/head & neck surgeon, as well as for the resident. While this is not a review book per se, there are an increasing number of questions regarding trauma in the Oto Board Exam, making this book, with its focus on clinical evaluation and treatment, concise format, and useful "tips", another useful tool for review. Head and Neck Trauma has a concise format but actually comprehensive in its coverage with emphasis on clinical evaluation and treatment (i.e. 27 short chapters but with an expansive breadth of topics). The additional chapters on general management of the trauma patient, radiological evaluation, biomechanics, the new plating systems, the section on complications in each chapter, and the special "tips" contribute to its practicality and usefulness. The contributors are a who's-who of eminent otolaryngologists/head & neck surgeons
