The monographs are organized by drug class.Most contain eight concise pieces of information such as: the title of the monograph by generic name of the interacting drugs; a significance code based on the interaction's potential harm to the patient and its frequency and predictability; a statement on the interaction's potential effects; patient management recommendations for the healthcare professional to consider with respect to the interaction; a summary of findings of studies in the literature; a discussion of pharmacologically, pharmacokinetically, or chemically related agents to either of the interacting drugs; a comment on the postulated mechanism for the drug interaction; a cross reference to the more detailed information, including references, found in ""Evaluations of Drug Interactions""; Appendix A complete list of the agents in a specific drug class and a list of monographs with Code 1 interactions; and Index A comprehensive cross reference to the most clinically significant drug interactions, organized by generic name.
