The choice of drug therapy for individual patients can be influenced by many factors, including concurrent drug treatments and medical history. Drugs in Use discusses the thinking behind these choices for a variety of diseases, using real-life examples. Drugs in Use has been completely revised and expanded. It presents a series of 32 clinical case studies designed to illustrate how pharmacists can optimise drug therapy in response to the needs of individual patients. In each case, patient information is interspersed with questions (and answers) suitable for self-study or group discussion. A pharmaceutical care plan for the patient under discussion is included at the end of each chapter. New chapters are included on stroke, dementia, osteoporosis, medication errors and medicines management. Drugs in Use will help both pharmacists and pharmacy students to develop the ability to make drug-related decisions which use their specialist knowledge and skills to the best effect.
