Description
Summary:From the very first revelation in the Quran, Muslims have been instructed to strive for knowledge. Knowledge is considered an important element that could elevate Muslims to towards success both in this world and the here-after. This was very much evident during the zenith of Islamic civilisation up till the 13th century. What of the Muslims today? Certainly the state of the Muslims in the first few years of the new century is a far cry from the Muslims as depicted during the glorious past. Nevertheless, there are those within the Muslims world who realise the importance of knowledge, the need to develop new knowledge and the importance of creating home-grown technologies. This book endeavours to explore the glorious past to unravel the secrets of success, while at the same time scrutinise the present in order to create a shift in the Muslim mindset by reinstitutionalising the research and development culture in the Muslim world.
