Through this institution, states can gain many benefits, such as the ability to communicate formally with one another, the promotion of friendly relations among nations, learning from the development that they have made and the signing of international treaties among them, to name a few. The law as regards to the Diplomatic Relations can be found in The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961 (VCDR). It was signed at Vienna on 18 April 1961 and laid down all the necessary information that is needed to know about the diplomatic relations, especially in regards to the diplomatic immunities and privileges. The VCDR was adopted at the United Nations Conference on Diplomatic Intercourse and Immunities in Vienna and thereafter, much has been said regarding its achievement in regulating the conduct of the diplomats.
