Stories drawn from real-life cases provide a practical foundation for spirited class discussions within a larger philosophical framework. Frequently referring to the APTA Code of Ethics and Guide for Professional Conduct, this comprehensive yet portable book aims to provide students with the tools PTs and PTAs need to confront ethical dilemmas and moral controversy. The book explores the origin of four types of ethical issues: compliance issues, moral disagreements, moral vagueness and ethical dilemmas. Discussion questions stimulate class conversation and reflection on the practical and moral significance of therapists' work, while case studies bring an interactive, practical perspective to ethical and philosophical concepts that can be hard to grasp. Throughout, there are numerous examples of cultural differences and managed care challenges are explored
