Description
Summary:The journey from the start of the research towards the completion of this book was never easy. The first plan was to produce a commentary of intellectual property law in one volume. As a result what was produced, as a first draft was merely a collection of specific cases with commentaries. But as time went by and pages increased in number, a proposal to split the area of intellectual property law into separate books was suggested and agreed upon. As a result the first draft had to be revised and a new format introduced, subtopics converted into chapters, new cases added, introduction and explanations claborated. Substantial time was spent in choosing the important and relevant cases from thousands of cases and writing commentaries for each chapter was indeed challenging. The arrangement of topics has been done with great care to enable readers to understand the law and legal discussions better. The law of confidential information is not new in Malaysia but the absence of writings in relation thereto makes this area almost unknown although its potential for development especially in the IT environment is very great.
