Description
Summary:Modern contract law increasingly demands the analysis and application of sophisticated concepts which students commonly find difficult. In Q&A Law of Contract, the authors incorporate some of the more effective techniques of writing examination answers in the subject, and help students to formulate the correct approach to answering legal problems. This third edition has been substantially updated to take account of recent developments in the law, with particular attention being paid to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 and the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999. It also includes Dir 99/44/EC on Consumer Sales and Associated Guarantees. Moreover, problem questions have been updated to take account of seminal decisions in areas such as fraudulent misrepresentation and undue influence as in Smith New Court Securities Ltd v Scrimgeour Vickers Ltd (1999) and Royal Bank of Scotland v Etridge (No.2) (1998). About the Authors: lan Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Research Fellow in Commercial Law at the University of the West of England, Bristol. He teaches contract and commercial law and has published extensively on these subjects in legal journals. Adrian Chandler is an Associate Dean within the Faculty of Law at the University of the West of England, Bristol. He is co-author of Information Protection, Ownership & Rights.
