Summary:His full name is Abu Abdullah Jabir bin Hayyan al-Kuffi al-Sufi. Other sources mention him as Abu Musa and not Abu Abdullah. Jabir ibn Hayyan is considered the most appropriate as the main representative of the Arab Alchemists (chemists) in the early days of its development. He was born in Kufa, Iraq in 721 and died in 815. Jabir was an Arab, but some say he was Persian. His father was Hayyan, a pharmacist from Kufa who later moved to Toos. His father's name is often associated with the political intrigues that took place in the 8th century AD, which ultimately led to the overthrow of the Umayyad Dynasty
