The key features of this particular book are clear explanation of the energy relationships within cells and between organisms and the environment • draws together the chemical and biological treatment of energy exchanges at 'A' level and in first year degree courses • starts with basic ideas about energy and shows how these can be applied to many biological phenomena shows how energy is one of the unifying concepts in cell biology. Chris Gayford is the biology education officer in the School of Education at Reading University. He was formerly Head of Science at North Bromsgrove Comprehensive High School and a Chief Examiner for GCE 'A' level Biology with the University of London School Examination Board.
