Description
Summary:As a health researcher, I'm a little skeptical about a lot of things. The first time I saw "miniature rebounding equipment" I was very skep tical. And as a member of the California Health Fraud Association, I immediately thought, "Oh no, not another gimmick to fool the public." Curiosity got the best of me, however, and I decided to bring one of those strange "springing devices" into the physical education research laboratory at the University of California, San Diego, and find the truth about the manufacturers' extravagant claim that jump ing on rebounding equipment is "the best exercise in the universe." After three and a half years of extensive research, we found that jumping on rebounding equipment is the best form of exercise for some but not for others.* For most people, it's fine. We found that 93 percent of 2300 men, women and children who jumped in our labo ratory experienced a great deal of joy. In fact, there was a smile on everyone's face. From these studies we concluded that jumping on rebounding equipment is a form of exercise that can be used by both novice and expert athletes, weight losers, those with various injuries, jogging dropouts, executives pressed for time, those living in extreme climates and especially those who hate exercise.
