Description
Summary:The "Pas De Six" from "La Vivandiere" is the only ballet to have been preserved intact from the Romantic period of ballet. It was recorded in detail by the choreographer Arthur Saint-Leon in his own dance notation system and therefore been faithfully revived for performance and study. This publication of the ballet in Labanotation, makes the choreography accessible fo researchers, students, teachers and dancers on an international level. This work includes historical background to the piece provided by the ballet historian, Ivor Guest, and study and performance notes based on the result of productions of the work by professional companies. While the steps are technically challenging, the ballet is a significant piece for students to perform and should provide insight into the Romantic Ballet style.
